Students Helping Honduras (SHH) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that believes that through youth empowerment and education we can reduce both poverty and violence in the most dangerous country in the world. SHH is working to build 1000 schools in villages across Honduras. In addition to school construction, SHH also runs a bilingual elementary school, 2 homes for orphaned and abandoned boys and girls, a college scholarship program and a village project called Villa Soleada. Villa consists of 44 homes with various community projects within.
SHH at Boston University fundraises for various projects in Honduras and recruits students to volunteer in Honduras with a SHH trip. This semester, students at BU are fundraising $1,000 to build a computer in the children's home. The lab will give kids access to laptops and the internet for the first time. This will allow them to study Englsih, graphic design, computer programming, and video editing using the latest technology. In this today's day and age, children who are computer literate will have a huge advantage in the future job market. Help us reach our goal and build a computer lab at the children's home!
